A Malaysia Airlines flights went missing carrying 239 people. They were heading from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. China sent ships to scour the water for possible wreckage. It said the passengers were of 13 different nationalities, including 153 from China and four from the United States.
A man was kept in jail for 30 years and most of that time was on death row then he was sent free. The man's name is Edward Lee Elmore and he was 53 when he was released at the age of 53. They say that law enforcement working the case planted evidence and manipulated facts that said that Elmore was involved in a crime that he did not commit.

Two teenagers who attend Wylie East High School have been arrested and charged with the murder of a fellow classmate. police received a call around 9:38 p.m. Saturday regarding a suspicious vehicle near Highway 78. Upon arrival, the two officers saw a vehicle matching the call description. The officers then continue into a wooded area near where the unoccupied vehicle was located and saw two teen males running. The officers returned to the suspect vehicle, waiting for the teens to possibly return to the car. When the two teens approached the car, officers asked what they were doing. One of the teens replied “burying a body,” according to Wylie police. Both teens are currently in the Collin County Juvenile.
Surveyors last month discovered dozens of neat, tight rows of coffins just feet below the ground at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. An estimated 2,000 unmarked graves were discovered during a survey for a planned campus expansion. There were stories that there was a cemetery somewhere on the grounds of the medical center that today sits where the Mississippi State Lunatic Asylum once stood, but the location of the cemetery was lost to history. The find has forced the medical center to halt its expansion. They are still unsure of what to do with the grave site.

In the trial of Isaiah Sweet, the judge is considering whether Isaiah should ever be paroled. Isaiah's attorney's asked that they consider paroling him after 25 years. A 14 year old was almost abducted while she was walking too school on wednesday in waterloo. It happened at around 8 a.m. Wednesday, as the student approached a group of five men near the intersection of Argyle Street and Iowa Street. According to police, two of the men grabbed the student and tried dragging her towards an abandoned home. The student got away and then ran to East High School, where she reported the attempted abduction to authorities. A nine year old boy, Greyson Bruce, brought a "My Little Pony" book bag to school and was told to leave it a home. The first day he brought it to school he was badly bullied. He was punched, kicked, called names, and picked on because the other kids thought the book bag was to girly. Bowman’s original bill made texting while driving a primary offense, meaning police officers could pull over a driver suspected of texting without having broken another driving violation. Under the revised approach, Iowa drivers could continue to talk and drive, but engaging in any other form of electronic communication could result in being ticketed for a moving violation and a $30 fine.
The death toll has risen to eight in the gas explosion in Manhattan. They pulled four more victims out of the still smoldering rubble. Several people are still missing. ReplyDeleteA 2 year old was driving around in her white convertible bumping into other cars in the apartment complex. A local police officer was in the area and saw the little girl, he wanted to show everyone the fun side of the police force and gave the young girl a $4 ticket. The little girl told her mom she plans to pay for the ticket all by herself.

A nine year old boy, Greyson Bruce, brought a "My Little Pony" book bag to school and was told to leave it a home. The first day he brought it to school he was badly bullied. He was punched, kicked, called names, and picked on because the other kids thought the book bag was to girly. The school told him to not bring it anymore because it was distracting and they said it was him basically asking to get beat up. Greyson later started up a Facebook page to promote friendship and "My Little Pony's".

SF 2289 would have made texting while driving or other forms of electronic communication a primary violation. Currently, this is a secondary violation in Iowa, meaning that law enforcement officers have to pull a driver over for a primary issue, such as speeding or driving without a seat belt. Sen. Tod Bowman (D-Maquoketa) sponsored the bill, which passed the Senate earlier on Tuesday by a wide 41-7 margin. When the bill got to the senate on Thursday, it failed to make it through. Bowman’s original bill made texting while driving a primary offense, meaning police officers could pull over a driver suspected of texting without having broken another driving violation. Under the revised approach, Iowa drivers could continue to talk and drive, but engaging in any other form of electronic communication could result in being ticketed for a moving violation and a $30 fine.

The death toll has risen to eight in the gas explosion in Manhattan. They pulled four more victims out of the still smoldering rubble. Several people are still missing. At the news conference this morning, the mayor said that they are still hoping to find others alive. There was a report of a gas smell about 15 minutes before the explosion. The explosion caused about 70 injuries and now 8 deaths.

An iowa state trooper was hospitalized of being hit while he was in his car. He was investigating an accident on interstate 80 near Oxford. When a semi hit a service vehical and then hit the cop's car. No one was injured in either accident
