Joni Ernst has pulled ahead in the electoral race against Bruce Braley. Bruce Braley is six points behind his rival Joni. Joni leads 4-1 with rural voters and is far ahead with independents. Seven months ago Braley was the sure canidate for the seat, being held before by Tom Harkin for 30 years, but now it seems that Joni will take the spot. Although there is still a chance for Braley with 5 weeks until the election and twelve percent of voters undecided. Braley's main downfall is his absences from most veterans affairs meetings and his role in the Affordable Care Act. Most rural voters are against him because of a remark he made about senator Chuck Grassley, which most people interpreted as him bashing farmers. A large plus for Joni, is her being a veteran. She knows what it's like to fight for our country and many people really respect that. It seems that Joni Ernst will take the election from Braley, but there is always that chance things will turn around!

My mom and Lowell Engle are running for district 56. The district is clayton and allmakee counties. My mom is trying to get re-elected, Lowell is running for the first time.
Joni Ernst is a Republican that is beating Bruce Braley. The main reason that Bruce is losing the poll is because he missed 75% of Of The Veterans’ Affairs Hearings. Joni Ernst is for the big oil rig thing, and only cares about money. She even made a pun about castrating pigs on her commercial. Who will replace Tom Harkin as senate. I personally dislike them both. So i couldent care less.
