After a mudslide in Camarillo Springs a man and his dog were trapped in their house. The man was rescued by fire fighters, but the dog was left trapped inside. The dog was thought to be dead until neighbors spotted him sitting in the window. Fire fighters were called in and were able to save the little dachshund named Tinkerbell.
Iowa Hawkeye football announcer Ed Podolak announced his 400th game for the Hawks last Saturday against Minnesota. Podolak was a former standout running back for Iowa in the late 1960's and he played in the NFL for 9 seasons. He is the Kansas City Chiefs second all-time leading rusher. In Florida somebody named Zac broke the record for food donations. In 24 hours with the help of the community he collected 566 thousand pounds of food for hungry families in the state. The project took months to plan. The last record was 559 thousand pounds, collected by a school in North Carolina.
