A not for profit organization in Des Moines, Iowa called City Sounds will be expanding their locations. The organization is already responsible for two outside pianos downtown, and plans to add at least six more pianos once the idea is approved by the city.
Some tenants living in their apartments on friday had a letter on their door saying that they have 30 days to move out with no specific reason saying why they have to move out. The only significance to the eviction is someone living in the same building got arrested for the possession of marijuana. The death of this military veteran who may have been suffering from post traumatic stress disorder has led Republican U.S. Sen. Trial started the other day for a man named Casey Frederiksen who is getting charged with first degree murder and first degree sexual assault or 5-year-old Evelyn Miller. Her body was found in the Cedar river a few days later. Because of pre-trial the trial has been moved to Hamilton County. It should be finished in about 2 weeks.
In Coralvile, a 31-year-old woman is behind bars, accused of beating up her roommate. Coralville police says Christina attacked her roommate in their mobile home early Monday morning, slamming Cindy Hook's head into a grill and during that a TV dropped onto her head. Hook says her room mate was drunk and she attacked her on the front porch, and she just got very violent. As of Monday evening, she was still booked in the Johnson County Jail on a $1,000 cash-only bond.

A woman from Ankeny was accused of faking a pregnancy to trick another couple into giving her money. 29-year-old woman was charged Friday with fourth-degree theft after adoptive parents from Dewitt, Iowa, claim she accepted $200 from them when she wasn’t really pregnant. According to a news release, Bess had signed onto Life Long Adoptions, an agency that connects birth mothers with potential parents. Detectives say Bess wasn’t pregnant during this scam, but that she used information from a pregnancy before to convince people into offering her financial support.
A weekend crash took the life of another driver. Justin Anthony Krutsinger, 38 years old, of Dexter has been charged with homicide by vehicle and an OWI. Police were called to the crash early Sunday morning to the home on South Fifth Street in Adel, Iowa. Krutsinger rear-ended a vehicle driven by Heidi Harkrader. Both the vehicles went into a ditch and struck a home near by. Mitch Osborn has been coaching the Harlem boys basketball team for 30 years but this year has been the most memorable. Osborn was diagnosed with non Hodgkins lymphoma at the start of the season. Winnebago County Attorney Adam Sauer says the suspected incident didn't happen at the elementary school of the North Iowa Community School District, where 61-year-old Allen James Twait of Forest City is employed. The district's superintendent says Twait has been placed on administrative leave. Twait is charged with one count of lascivious acts with a child. He was arrested Saturday and was released from the Winnebago County Jail after posting a $10,000 cash bond.

Jerry McBride pulled 70 year old, Vietnam vet, Fred Steven from his burning house. Steven has to have an oxygen machine running at all times because he has problems breathing. There were nearly 40 oxygen tanks that blew up inside, making the flames more intense. Fred's mobile home is a total loss and the heat was so harsh, his car also melted. In Cedar Rapids a Women survives a two inch pipe going through her car then through her body. 27 year old Kelsey Cummings was driving when she hit a galvanized gate.
