  2. At the University of Queensland in Australia a treatment option for alzheimer's has been discovered. This treatment is done with the use of ultrasound technology and it works by removing beta-amyloid blockages in the brain, restoring memory. Beta-amyloid is a key part in the development of Alzheimer's disease. It works by blocking the neural paths in the brain called synapses and interfere with communications between nerve cells. In the mice test models, which is what this technology was tested on, 75% of mice had cleared blockages of the beta-amyloid. Of these 75% most of them had restored memories comparable to those of healthy mice.

  3. 3-D printing is being used to print living cell structure. It is also called Bioprinting that uses Bio-ink. Bioprinting has been used to print certain organ cells like a kidney and a liver. Scientists are predicting that in less than a decade bioprinted organs will be ready for tranplant. Stem cell printing is leading medical advancement right to printing tissues in to certain parts of the body. 3-D and bioprinting also can print Bone, Cartlage, Surgaical Tools, used for cancer research, Heart, and Blood Vessels. Bioprinting allows scientist to print cancer cells and study how they grow.

  4. Terry Brandstad is defending the plan of closing two mental institutes: Clarinda and Mount Pleasant. Also the 14th amendment states that states can't deprive people liberty, life or property. So if Brandstad is closing these institutes for these people he is breaking the law. He is closing these because Mount Pleasant's psychiatrist is lacking in help and Clarinda's psychiatrist is retiring.

New forms of cesarean sections are being developed to allow a more natural delivery, if mothers desire they are allowed to hold their babies immediately after birth, rather than being separated for often as much as an hour to receive pediatric care. Many mothers say they are much more comfortable with this method.

  9. 3D printing may seem a little unfathomable to some, especially when you apply biomedical engineering to 3D printing. Some of the most incredible uses for 3D printing are developing within the medical field. Some of the following ways this futuristic technology is being developed for medical use might sound like a Michael Crichton novel, but are fast becoming reality.
