  3. The European Commission President Jean-Claude Junckner has called for the formation of a European Union Army to stand up to Russia and other threats. Along with this, an army would send powerful signals to the rest of the world. This joint army would show the rest of the world that the European countries were united and would never again start a war between them. With their own army they could respond more efficiently to threats.
