  11. Brenden Baker of Abilene, Texas, was born with a rare form of dwarfism called Desbuquois syndrome. He's 27-and-a-quarter inches long and he weighs 24 pounds. He recently turned 13, and instead of asking for presents for his birthday, he asked for people to donate money to his GoFundMe page. The funds raised are then being turned over to the hospital's Children's Miracle Network, which is a nonprofit organization for medical research. Instead of wanting gifts like most average children on their birthdays, his grandfather blessed him with this amazing idea to give back. "I think this is just Brenden," his father said. "This is just him doing what he does. He cares more about other people than he does himself." He also mentioned actions like this are not out of the norm for Brenden.

  17. With weather being super cold lately one mother is crocheting hats for newborns. So far she has crocheted over 200 hats at Allen Hospital in Waterloo. She claims she does this because of her twins which she had prematurely and sent two months in the hospital with them saying that Allen Hospital has pretty much become a second home to her. Lacy also makes hats for stillborns so she can show that they are babies too.

  20. In the UK there are 1.8M households willing to take in Syrian refugees. This hopefully will raise toleration about muslims in the UK to the western world. These safe heavens will be used as homes for the refugees. I don't know the UK's policy of refugees and that if they will be able to stay or have to go back after the conflict in Syria.

This one is pretty simple. Scientists have created a pretty accurate IQ test for dogs. This sort of thing has been done before, but results were pretty hit or miss in the past. I really don't think this will change any lives, but maybe they could use this to see which dogs are the best to be trained to assist blind people, and that sort of thing.
