  1. There has been a nest discovered that is the home to 6,000-10,000 wasps. It was discovered in a rural village called Pipewell in Northamptonshire England. The home it was found in has been vacant for a few year. After the house was sold is when a pest control company discovered the nest, they had come to take care of a woodworm problem. The wasps had also built a tunnel from the nest to the outside of the house. The wasps were common wasps. The tunnel most likely was not an entrance/exit tunnel, but an extension from the original nest.

  7. The 2:22 service from London St Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord was delayed for about an hour on Sunday after hitting a boar in the Haute Picardie area of northern France. A Eurostar spokesman said this led to minor delays as temporary speed restrictions were put in place. He said the train arrived safely at the Paris terminus. "The collision caused a few delays as the train was stopped to be checked," he said. "After any collision we need to make sure everything is safe. "There are wild boars in that area, which can take it upon themselves to roam from their area onto the track." It is understood no-one was injured, but there has been no further information about the wild boar. While services appeared to be running as normal by 7:30 BST, the company's website still warned passengers of possible delays.

  21. Polish women are striking against abortion ban. Women who oppose the ban are staying away from work and school and refusing to do domestic chores, in a protest inspired by a women's strike in Iceland in 1975. The strike didn't have that big of visible impact on affecting the economic life in Poland. Even in large cities like Warsaw almost all shops were open and companies and offices went about their day to day business.

  23. There is now a urine test for testing for CJD, short for Creudtzfeldt Jacob Disease. This is the term for human mad cow disease. This is much less painful than the common procedure of a lumbar puncture, or spinal tap. This is a very traumatic procedure to the spinal cord and brain tissues. This now a easy test for the extremely rare brain disease. The test was discovered in London. The fatal disease is contracted by eating beef with a contaminated nervous system, but the cause of the infection is still unknown. The odds of contracting this disease are less than winning the Powerball jackpot.
