Every year in Spain, a Christmas lottery called El Gordo takes place. People also refer to this even as the "Fat One". This tradition has been going on since 1812, and has not been missed a single year since. Instead of the Spanish state keeping the money, they distribute it in prizes. This year, El Gordo will distribute $2.4 billion. To buy a full ticket, it costs $209.08, so people usually buy parts of a ticket for less money.
