LeBron James Addresses Players Sitting for Rest During NBA Season
Cleveland Cavaliers were criticized for resting their star players at Saturday's prime time game against the Los Angeles Clippers. The NBA wants to have their best teams and players to play in prime time games to generate ratings. LeBron James spoke out about the issue stating; "I don't think the NBA can do anything about it. At the end of the day, it sucks at times where certain guys have to rest, but certain guys need rest. And it's a long, strenuous season and the NBA does a great job of putting the schedule together as best as they can. You're going to have back-to-backs. You're going to have certain games where certain things fall on certain nights, but a coach's job is to figure out a way for their team to compete for a championship, not compete for a game."

On Saturday night NCAA admitted that they had made a mistake. The issue at hand was the officiating controversy on Zach Collins' goaltending violation in No. 1 Gonzaga's 79-73 win over No. 8 Northwestern. The Wildcats had made an extended second-half run to cut the Zags' lead to five and should have cut it to three when Collins reached through the rim to block Dererk Pardon's shot. Which is not legal. The NCAA put it in more easy terms. "Article 2.a.3 states that basket interference occurs when a player reaches through the basket from below and touches the ball before it enters the cylinder. Carolina, playing with what could be considered a home-court -- or at least a home-state -- edge, beat Duke Sunday night to move into the NCAA "Sweet Sixteen." A win's a win, but it gets a little complicated after that. It wasn't Duke arch-rival North Carolina that knocked the No. 2 seed Blue Devils out of the East Regional. It was South Carolina, the 7 seed in the region, that advanced into more March Madness with a win over Duke, 88-81. And the game wasn't played as originally scheduled in North Carolina, home to UNC, Duke and a few hundred thousand rabid basketball fans. It was played in South Carolina, thanks to North Carolina's infamous "bathroom bill."

On Wednesday, Roger Goodell announced that changes to the NFL will be made, hoping to speed up games and cut down on the number commercials. The biggest change of all is the removal of commercials after a touchdown, and after the ensuing kickoff. “That is indeed one of the worst aspects of an NFL broadcast,” he said. It kills the flow of the game, going from an exciting play to multiple commercial breaks before the next play from scrimmage happens. Another potential change that could be made for the upcoming season is the streamlining of replay reviews. The referees will now have a tablet brought to them, rather than having to go to the sideline to review the play under a stationary hood. i think these will be good additions.

He was 100% correct through the first 29 games but it ended when South Carolina beat Marquette. He still managed to win $100,000 but if Marquette had pulled off the win, he would have made $1 million.

Paris and Los Angelos are the two cities left in intrest to host the 2024 Olympics. However Paris is saying the will only host the 2024, not the 2028 or others after that. There kind of throwing a little fit and saying that it is now or never for them. They're pointing out that they have the political support, 95% of the existing venues, etc. IOC president Thomas Bach made an official statement that all decisions are in the air of of now.

ReplyDeleteThe NCAA put it in more easy terms. "Article 2.a.3 states that basket interference occurs when a player reaches through the basket from below and touches the ball before it enters the cylinder. Replays showed the Gonzaga defender violated this rule".

There were about over 60 TV's all over the restaurant located in Las Vegas. Varying in sizes. Most of the customers were in the same demographic that night. Mostly male, mostly young, dressed in khaki shorts and flip-flops, with golf pencils behind their ears.

32 year old, Linsey Vonn, has 77 World Cup wins and is said to be the greatest female Alpine skier of all time. This has been the toughest season of her career as she preps for her fourth and final Winter Olympics in 2018. On November 10, she crashed while training and broke her right arm. The bone fragments damaged her radial nerve and she lost total function of her hand. After having surgery and going through therapy, she went to the World Cup in January but only won once. She finished nine wins shy of the men’s career record holder. A man from Sweden holds that currently.

ReplyDeleteCarolina, playing with what could be considered a home-court -- or at least a home-state -- edge, beat Duke Sunday night to move into the NCAA "Sweet Sixteen." A win's a win, but it gets a little complicated after that.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't Duke arch-rival North Carolina that knocked the No.

This type of immersive experience will bring in the superfans who truly want to feel the energy and excitement of the game. It also offers a product that brings in a younger demo, given that most VR adopters are gamers,” Hania Poole, general manager of NCAA Digital at Turner Sports told Fox News.

ReplyDeleteAnother potential change that could be made for the upcoming season is the streamlining of replay reviews. The referees will now have a tablet brought to them, rather than having to go to the sideline to review the play under a stationary hood. i think these will be good additions.

Former wide receiver of Alabama, Antonio Carter, filed a lawsuit over fraud against the first-year Florida Atlantic coach, Lane Kiffin. Carter complains that he was purposely mislead about an assistant strength and conditioning job with the Owls. If Carter would have gotten the job, he would have been working with wide receivers and making $40,000 plus bonuses. When he applied for the job, the university said that he didn't pass the background check. The background check showed that he had two previous misdemeanors. Carter stated that the charges have been dropped, but now blames that is was Kiffin's fault, because they say Kiffin took part in the deal.
