  1. Europe is surrounded by oceans and seas, which have shaped it climate, economy, and society. The sea has provided coastal jobs, trade, and fresh food. Unfortunately the ocean is undergoing pressure from climate change and human activities. Studies have shown that the ecosystems in the European seas are changing drastically. Agricultural fertilizers are draining into the oceans and many contain nutrients that help algae bloom. Algae takes away the oxygen levels in the oceans and seas which causes aquatic life to suffocate.
