  1. There was an eight-story apartment that had collapsed in the city's Kartal on a Wednesday afternoon. Officials say that the death toll has risen to 14. Almost a dozen or more people are still missing. Rescuers have been searching through countless nights to find anyone still alive inside the apartment wreckage. There was a 16-year-old boy who was found alive on Friday, reportedly after rescuers heard him call for help from inside the rubble.

    Russian artist Andrei Molodkin is creating a new project called "Young Blood". He is asking for blood donators to help his creations. The blood can be fed directly into a glass box which has song lyrics of the donators choice. In an interview the artist said, "It's like a mural for our times." There's already 36 people sign up to donate their blood.

  3. British Runner Sets Record Time in World Marathon Challenge

    Susannah Gill ran seven marathons in seven continents in seven days. The World Marathon Challenge is extremely hard but she completed it in record time! She even won six of the seven races. This challenge leads many runners through all different types of weather and sometimes that can make it even more difficult. Gill mentioned that even though receiving the title wasn't her goal, she says if you work hard it will pay off in the end. She said if someone has a passion for running or they love running, this race is for them.

    The crime rate for stabbings in the younger generations has rose by 54% in England within the past 5 years. This was revealed by a statement from the National Health Service. Last year 1,012 individuals in between the ages of 10 and 19 were admitted to the hospital. 5 years ago this number was at 656 people. A doctor from the Royal London Hospital stated he sees an average of two cases dealing with stabbings everyday.

  5. Highest recorded cases of measles in Europe. In Ukraine last year alone had 53,218. During conflict with other countries the use of vaccines dropped drastically. This made many people prone to getting measles when in contact with it. Measles is becoming a problem all over Europe.

Europe might close its doors on immigration and many other things might change should the study hold true. The European Council on Foreign Relations conducted the study.

  7. In Madrid 45,000 people protest the Spanish government's description to talk with the Catalan separatist leaders. The protester where chanting long live Spain and they called for the resignation of Spanish prime minister Sanchez. This comes after years of tension between the Catalan separatist and Pro Catalan supporters divide the nation farther on what to do over the issue concerning the status of Catalonia.

Italy could be about to challenge Trump over NATO spendingThe North Atlantic Treaty Organization or better know as NATO is causing tensions between President Donald Trump and Italy's defense minister Elisabetta Trenta. Trenta doesn't think countries should be obligated to spend the equivalency of 2% of their own GDP on NATO. President Trump has denounced other leaders for disrespecting NATO. Italy's prime minister told Trump that meeting his demands may be difficult and Italy may not be able to raise money for NATO. It'll be interesting to see how President Trump responds to this.

  9. Hungary tries for baby boom with tax breaks and loan forgiveness

    Mom's in Hungary with 3 or more children will not have to pay taxes. The prime minister wants to bump the number of babies born up. Hungary's population is falling by 32,000 each year. So the prime minister thinks that women will have more children so they don't have to pay for taxes. Young couples will get an interest free loan of $36,000 and once they have 3 or more children it will be cancelled.

    A new male tiger was brought to the London zoo. His name was Asim. The zoo had a female tiger named Melati already, and was hoping Asim and Melati would breed in the future. Asim attacked and killed Melati just moments after they meet. At first the two tigers were put into two different enclosures, allowing them to interact with each other. The zoo keepers thought it was the right to put them together, but they didn't act right and Asim killed Melati. Zookeepers, and other people were devastated buy the death of Melati

    33 year old, Kateryna Handzuk died in late September. Investigators thought it was an accident. The acid looked as if it had just fallen from a shelf at her home and exploded all over. Later investigated they found out it had been planed. Handzuk had been posting videos on YouTube bashing president Kherson. She said, "I know I look bad now... But I look better then justice in Ukraine." Investigates arrested president Kherson for murder.

    A massive float of a character with Donald Trump's head with the body of Warhammer 40k "God Emperor" character was spotted at Italy last weekend. This apparently occurred during a festival, and in the festival's website is the float, titled "The Master Drone", with Trump dubbed "God Emperor Trump". The statue has giant claws, and a large sword with a phrase that can be interpreted as "here’s your f***ng tariffs,” according to Heavy.com with the interview of the creator of the float.

    The float was created by a man named Fabrizio Galli.

  13. A First Date for Two Rare Tigers Ends in Death at London Zoo

    Melati, a female sumatran tiger was killed by a potential mate whene the two animals were intruduced for the first time in the London Zoo. The courtship went for ten days, when the matchmakers believed that the time and place was right but they were wrong. The male tiger called Asim, killed the girl as soon as they met. Many people thought it could be avoided and the assult on the tiger made everyone seem very sad.

    Tesla, an electric car brand, has announced their superchargers will be placed everywhere in Europe in the upcoming year. The CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk, announced the news on Boxing Day via Twitter. With the wide variety of superchargers to be available in Europe, Tesla owners can charge their cars virtually anywhere. Previous Tesla models have been known for a short charging time, the new Tesla model is said to last longer and charge faster. The Model 3s are expected to have orders fulfilled within the year.

    Paris's interior minister had announced that in the last year the amount of anti-semitic attacks have gone up by 74%. They had recently discover trees that were planted in peoples memories had been chopped down or cut into. They also discovered that people had been drawing on memorials of people of the holocaust. The Paris's mail boxes has a mural of a holocaust survivor and discovered that people had drawn swastikas over her face.

  16. French mayor issues ban on 'excessive dog barking'

    The mayor of a town in France has issued a ban on excessive dog barking in hopes to decrease noise pollution. Fines are given to owners who's dogs bark repeatedly for long periods of time. The Mayor stated, "Our goal isn't to ban dogs and we won't be fining people for the slightest hint of yap." The goal is have educated dogs, not dogs that bark day and night. The decree forbids dogs from being left in enclosed areas without an owner present. This is also not the first time French authorities have tried decreases the barking.

    Ever since Megan Markle, Prince Harry's wife, married into the royal family, rumors have been made about her personal life. While the rumors are not true, Megan has struggled with the negative remarks and the racist comments being made about her and their soon to be born child. Meghan has done things differently than woman in the royal family before her. People directly associated with the royal family are trying to control her life; what she does, posts, or wears, which is causing an upset. There has been talk between Harry and Meghan about leaving "royalty" but no one knows if they will follow through.

  18. Some fisherman in Europe have been using this controversial technique of electric pulse fishing. This method is done by pulling a net loaded with electrodes across the ocean producing an electric field in the water. This shocks fish up from the sea floor making them easier to catch. The method has been observed to be taking place in some of the worlds most protected marine areas. This method of fishing is illegal in the United States and in China.

    Secretary of States Mike Pompeo is concerned with European countries using Chinese technology from Huawei. Pompeo stated, "it makes it difficult for us to be partners" with all European countries associated with the Chinese Network. Tensions are rising as the United States warns European countries about the 5G Chinese Network.

  20. Ten days Asim and Melati were kept apart. They gave the tigers time to get used to each other from presence. Friday they put the two together. Suddenly Asim attacked and killed Melati. Zookeepers tried to intervene. The zookeepers confused because Asim gave off positive signs. The introduction escalated quickly which was predicted. Zookeepers had a plan incase this happened was make loud noises, flares, and alarms to distract the tigers. It ended up not working. Asim 7 was put in his enclosure when they checked on Melati 10 she had already died.

Their amount of losses has since grown. Because of this, it has cost thousands of people to lose their jobs. They are also in big trouble for having a false audit report.   22. Mike Pompeo has warned European countries that using technology from Huawei could hurt their relationship with the United States. The US government has been pushing countries to stay away from using Huawei technology because it can cause security concerns. The Huawei technology was originally created in China. The Chinese government has accused the US government of trying to "sow discord between China and other countries."

  23. Belgium airport workers are going on strike for better pay. Well, more accurately traffic control workers. This all started on Tuesday evening at 22:00 and will end Wednesday at 22:00. They put a ban on all commercial aircrafts going under 8000 meters in the Belgian airspace except for Military, humanitarian, and emergency flights. This strike will affect a little over 600 flights within this 24 hour period.

  24. Major Infighting Breaks Out Between Artists, Labels & Publishers Over Article 13: Written February 11, 2019

    Last week Article 13 was agreed on in France and Germany to apply on all European for-profit platforms. That meant it would apply to all apps and websites in Europe. Many entertainment organizations criticized this bill including the music industry because it would harm European producers and creators. It would harm creators because if they didn’t own rights to certain objects, songs, characters, or anything else they could get sued and pay a fine. Sometime this week the EU will hold a meeting to vote on this final agreement.

  25. Former boxer who hit police in 'Yellow Vest' protest gets year-long jail sentence

    A former boxer was arrested at a Yellow vest protest in France. At the age of 37, he is a 2-time light-heavyweight national champion. He was sentenced to one year in jail for assaulting a police officer on January 5th, 2019. There was a website that was set up to fund his bail but the website was shut down due to criticism against police brutality. He has to serve an 18-month suspension sentence after he gets out.

  27. A Dutch fertility doctor is currently being tested to see if he fathered up to 200 children. The doctor who was 89 before he passed away was charged 1 month after his death. At the moment it is expected for at least 47 to be currently his child and the number is supposed to climb. Dutch law only permits 25 children to be fathered by sperm doners, far off from 200. His clinic shut down in 2009, but still affected many.

  30. Europe is really looking like the weak link in global economy. Industrial production over the 19-nation euro is falling fast. Most people are not very concerned about it right now and action may not need to be taken. It is expected even though there is a drop in economics it should go back to where it was. France is a large consumer and if they stop or slow down and Germany stops producing, then there is a problem.

    Brexit is where the British want to leave the EU and it has been going on for a while now. The Dutch Government tries to look at Brexit as "not a elephant in the room, but a muppet style monster lying on a desk". Dutch firms can see how the businesses would be effected if/when Brexit went through. A rumor is going around that the UK could leave the EU in a deal being made and finalized on March 29th. Many look at the UK leaving the EU as a very bad thing calling it "the worst-case scenario".

  32. Newborn baby found in freezing London park
    Last Thursday, there was a newborn baby found in a park in Newham. This baby girl was left in temperatures hovering around zero degrees celsius. The police were called around 10:15 pm, and after the baby was taken to a nearby hospital. Authorities are now looking for the mother, who they believe to be in need of medical attention. The baby is now at stable conditions in the hospital.

    In Ukraine, a 33 year old women named Kateryna Handzyuk was found dead. She was found dead in the month of November midway. She died of acid. The case was investigated and was closed as an accident. Later this month the case was reopened and it found the acid was placed in the house on purpose. Investigators found guilty of Kherson, a political cheif in the town and was later charged for murder.

    In Moldova Europe, Facebook and Instagram pages targeting Moldavians are being shut down. Moldova is one if Euopes's poorest countries. 168 accounts, 28 pages and 8 Instagram users have been removed so far. In Moldova, the elections are very controversial which is said to be the cause of the pages shutting down. The deleted accounts are supposedly "Inauthentic."

    The Pope’s envoy to France is under investigation for an alleged sexual assault on a male Paris City Hall staff member during an official event last month. He was accused of molesting the man at City Hall on January 17. The Paris prosecutor’s office said the investigation was opened after City Hall lodged a complaint six days later.He was described as a member of City Hall’s General Delegation for International Relations. Archbishop Ventura did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

  36. In the UK thousands of children have gone on strike as a part of a campaign to take action on climate change. Students all over are walking out of school to show the government they want something changed. Students gathered in Parliament Square chanting "Save our planet." The students had four demands, for the government to declare "climate emergency", inform public of the seriousness of the situation, national curriculum should include "the ecological crisis", and the age of voting should be lowered to 16. Students from more than 60 different cities participated and the movement is spreading around the world.

  37. "Archaeologists in Pompeii Find Fresco of Narcissus in ‘Extraordinary’ Condition"

    On Thursday, February 7th archeologists discovered a fresco painting of a Greek mythology figure named Narcissus. Narcissus is said to have grown in love with his own reflection in a pool of water. Some stories say he sat there, watching himself, forever while others say that the gods turned him into a flower. No matter what the story is, people were amazed to see a painting that had been so well saved during the disaster at Pompeii in 79 A.D.. Other pieces of art were found through out area as well. The place where these things are being discovered is very likely to fall apart, but archeologists are trying to locate all the artifacts they can before that happens.
