French healthcare system 'should not fund homeopathy' https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/mar/29/homeopathy-french-healthcare-system
Experts state that the French system of government should not fund homeopathy as a form of medical treatment. Homeopathy is the belief that a substance that causes a medical problem can also be used to solve that medical problem if given in minute doses. There is no evidence that this form of treatment works.
France's healthcare system pays over 100 million euros on homeopathy annually, and this has become somewhat of a controversy amongst experts. The Collège National des Généralistes Engseignants stated that it is "necessary to abandon these esoteric methods, which belong in the history books.”
The other side of the debate explains that homeopathy is a form of treatment utilized by much of the population. “Homeopathy is used by many French people,” says Gilles Bonnefond. Bonnefond is a president of a French pharmaceutical union. “When we’re dealing with patients, science isn’t the only rule," he further states.
France accused of failing to protect endangered birds Campaigners for bird protection are lodging an official complaint on the rules of hunting and trapping birds. This is mainly in effect because the European Union is failing to protect the endangered bird species in the area. The LPO(The Ligue pour la Protection des OIseaux) has reminded the EU that they had legalized stone crush traps in 2005, which in turn killed numerous birds in different populations. Two researchers found that in the last fifteen years, the number of birds in rural areas dropped by a third. This has been due to hunting and the use of mass pesticides. The LPO has lodged many complaints before, but this one they are using full force to catch the attention of the EU. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2019/apr/01/france-accused-of-failing-to-protect-endangered-birds

The new government representative Sibeth Ndiaye was conceived in Dakar and acquired her citizenship while running President Emmanuel Macron's race in 2016. The nearby connection with the president and her remarks in the time as his media counselor have made her an objective for analysis by the government. Many people are upset over this because she didn't even have her citizenship until she got in politics. So all the time before then she was an illegal and shouldn't have had the same rights. Even so she was involved in politics as early as 2002.

French healthcare system 'should not fund homeopathy'
ReplyDeletehttps://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/mar/29/homeopathy-french-healthcare-system
France accused of failing to protect endangered birds
ReplyDeleteCampaigners for bird protection are lodging an official complaint on the rules of hunting and trapping birds.

Within the past two years, an immense amount of gas has gone missing from pumps all around Paris. Until just recently, no one has been able to figure out how people have been stealing the gas without anyone noticing. Five men have just been caught stealing 120,000 liters of gas, equaling 168,000 American dollars. They did this by buying a controller (off the internet) and then hacking into the pumps. When they hacked into the pumps, they changed the settings and were able to take out as much gas as they wanted, without the pump keeping track.
