  1. Studies of popular baby food in the U.S. came out with alarming results. Researchers are reporting that 95 % of baby food products contain toxic ingredients. The two toxic ingredients that they found were arsenic and lead. They found that baby cereal and rice based snacks are the worst for babies. They say that buying organic baby food or making your own will not prevent this. These heavy metals are found in soil and water at elevated levels in fields.

  2. At a grocery store/ coffee shop in Britain, called Marks and Spencer, they are going to sell miniature versions of food! They say that you can collect each one of the miniature items and create your own little shop at home, for children ages 4-8. They came out with 25 items on Wednesday. If you spend 20 pounds or just over 25$ you get a free mini food item. So far they have strawberries, cake, chicken, and more. The mini food also comes with a little package with a joke and facts about your collectible. This is called the Little Shop campaign and is in 10 countries across the world.

  3. There was a study on popular baby foods in the U.S. They found that 95 percent of the products that were tested contained toxic ingredients like arsenic and lead. They found baby cereal and rice based-snacks to be the worst. They said that buying organic or making your own baby food won’t prevent exposing your child to the harmful ingredients either because heavy metals are naturally occurring in soil and water. The author said that choosing grain cereal or oatmeal instead of infant rice cereal would lower the baby’s exposure to toxic heavy metals by 84 percent.

  7. It is said that airline food is not the best, well apparently that does not go for their burgers. American airlines had to stop selling their really good burgers because of a shortage of pattys. The bad part is that they have decided to stop selling them forever now. They have planned this for a little bit now. On the menu they are replacing it with some Italian food instead.

They tested 168 baby foods from major manufacturers in the U.S. looking for the presence of four heavy metals: arsenic, lead, mercury, and cadmium. Only 9 out of the 168 baby foods tested did not contain any detectable traces of these four metals. The study found that 95% of them were contaminated by at least one of the four heavy metals, and 25% contained all four metals. 10. Zhang Xinliang, a chinese entrepreneur, has hit a stroke of luck lately. Zhang is the founder of one of the three biggest plant-based fake meat manufacturers in China. He says now he might get four or five investors in his office every day! Why is there such an interest in fake meat? Recently, African Swine Fever has been running rampant. China already slaughtered tens of millions of pigs to prevent it from entering China's food supply. To counteract this, they released thirty thousand metric tons of pork from China's pork reserve. This measure has proven ineffective, as pork prices in September were 69% higher than the previous year. Some Chinese people can no longer pay for real meat and turned to Zhang's fake meat which sells cheaper.

  13. A MCDonald's customer, says that a McDonald's security guard harassed him. The security guard claims that he wasn't using the McDonald's app to order food. This occurred at a McDonald’s in Gipsyville in England on Friday night. Cameron Sande told the local news outlet that the guard was insulting and being aggressive toward the group of boys and punched the table at one point. The guard approached the table and just assumed they weren't getting any food and told them to leave. Cameron Sande was getting angry and his friends were scared, because the guard was insulting them calling Cameron Sande a "stupid white boy". A manager came over and said calm down they were using their phones to order food. When that happened the guard threw his hands in the air and started laughing. When Cameron Sande was telling the manager what happened the guard was trying to scare them into not telling the manager happened and denied that he punched the table. He was saying shut up to keep the boys from talking. The manager apologized to the customer on spot, when talking to the news press the manager stated that we talked to the guard on are standards and we will make sure it won't happen again.

In August, Cody Gregg was pulled over by the cops because he did not have his bike lights on. He didn’t pull over, so it leads to a police chase. One he was found the cop found his “large amount of cocaine”. In a coffee can. He was on probation at the time he was stopped by the cop for a previous charge with drugs. The officer thought it was cocaine because of his training, and experience. Then a test was ran on the powder, and it was positive for cocaine. Cody was charged with possession of drugs, and he pled not guilty. He spent two months in jail, and changed his plea to guilty. He wanted out of jail so that is why he changed his plea. More tests were ran, and it proved that the powder was powdered milk. He reaved it from a food pantry. He was sentenced 15 years in jail, but because the powder is powdered milk all current charges where dropped, and the case was dismissed yesterday.

A scientist from Japan, Yuri Tajiri and his students from Kurume University created the idea of this study. The study conducted of a group of mice receiving unlimited amounts of food and another group receiving only two meals per day. The mice receiving less food gain more interest in running. In future years, scientists plan on trying the trail on humans to see if the results are equal or the same.

About 40% of buyers have complained about the food being expired because Amazon doesn't check the dates before shipping. Unfortunately, the company can't get into trouble for this. They have a loophole that the product the customers buy must be past 90 days expired along with the food at amazon but the people at Amazon haven't been flowing this rule.

Central and Southern Asia, North America, and Europe have the biggest food loses. Having better cold storage and infrastructure would help reduce the loss of so much food, but more detailed data is needed to take on this problem. Around 820 million people go hungry each day. World leaders have pledged to try to halve global food waste at retail and consumer levels by 2030 and reduce food production losses. Companies are also trying to improve the efficiency in the food industry.

  26. There's a scientific reason you crave junk food when you don't get enough sleep. It's 3 a.m. and you're wide awake for the second night in a row. You get up and stumble to the kitchen for some warm milk mom swears will put you to sleep. When you're sleep deprived, you're not like, 'Oh, you know what, I want some carrots,' " said behavioral neuroscientist Erin Hanlon, who studies the connection between brain systems and behavior at the University of Chicago. "You're craving sweets and salty and starchy things," she added. "You want those chips, you want a cookie, you want some candy, you know?"What is it about sleep exhaustion and junk food? The answer lies in history, back when we dug in the dirt for starchy tubers, foraged for sweet berries and gorged on fatty fish. A lack of sleep triggers ancient instincts that yearn for rich, sweet, fatty foods.

A recent study in the BMJ journal Vet Record, however, warns that commercially available raw meat based food is potentially dangerous for both dogs and their owners. They believe harvesting different species of harmful bacteria could affect the dog. These include uncooked meat from organs from cattle, chicken, lamb, turkey, pigs, salmon and even reindeer. Which this bacteria can easily be passed on to humans.
