An 11-year-old Washington state boy was arrested after bringing 400 rounds of ammunition, several knives and a handgun to school on Wednesday, police said. Frontier Middle School, in Vancouver, Wash., was locked down for about two hours after ammunition was found at around 9:20 a.m. local time. The student was interviewed by detectives and later arrested on a count of attempted murder, police said. No injuries were reported. The boy was booked into Clark County Juvenile Detention Center later Wednesday. He could appear in court on Thursday, local NBC News affiliate KGW reported.
A man goes to jail for being accused of stabbing three men and assaulted a fourth Thursday morning at a Waterloo bar. Officers were contacted thursday morning at 1:26 because of a man who was seen with a knife. One man was reported a wound from being stabbed in the back, another had a cut on his elbow and the other man was hit in the face with the knife. Eric Hayze was responsible for these mens injuries and he will be accounted with two charges of willful injury as well as two counts of going armed with intent and one countly assault causing bodily injury. The fourth guy had two wounds on his back from being stabbed. All of the victims were taken to a hospital and are reported to being okay. Police and investigators are still under investigation.

Iran passes a new law that some would associate with "pedophilia." This bill is aiming for the protection of children's rights, but it allows men to marry their adopted daughters as longs as they are 13 years of age. The cultures of most Iranian families allows daughters to marry at the age of 13 if the father is ok with it. This law basically allows pedophilia and forces young adopted girls to marry their fathers if the father wants it to be that way. Children's rights activists are alarmed by this, because the bill was trying to "protect" children's rights but it could endanger them more than protect them.
A Waterloo man went to jail after he tried running over a woman. This happened in the 300 block of adams street in Waterloo around 3 in the morning. The woman was 22 years old. The witnesses say the man got out of his car pushed the woman down and then got back into his car and ran her over. A ride operator was arrested on 3 felony counts of assault after people were hurt by his ride at a fair. Police had determined the ride had been tampered with. Monday the judge sentenced him to 50 years but he said that it was intentional that he killed his son but what he did was foolish and bad parenting. He addressed in court that he hopes to get help and take parenting classes. "In my mind and in my heart I will always serve a life sentence. I understand my boy paid the ultimate price for my actions. I assure you I never meant for this to happen. If I knew I was hurting my boy I would have never done it," said Reddout. A father is being charged with 50 years in prison for killing his 18 month old son. They boys name was caleb and he died in a motel in april 2011. On monday he was sentenced to 50 years. The father said that he didn't mean to kill his son.
In september, Miami children came home to find that their father was gone. They new something was wrong. Then they got a phone call from their father telling them he was ok and in a detention center. He was deported back to Nicaragua and is now there with his wife who was deported five years ago. He wasn't going to his meetings so that is why he was deported. The children are devastated and in the US alone now. They have been able to make contact with the parents. They are thinking of going back to Nicaragua but the parents are really against it saying that their isn't a future for them there.
11 year old Peyton Robertson used his brilliant math and science skills to invent sand less sandbags. He wanted to make this product after having a scary experience with a hurricane. Regular sandbags are heavy. They usually weigh up to 40 pounds, but Peyton's sandbags weigh only 4 pounds. It's filled with a ultra-fluid cemical that only expands when water hits it. causing the sand bags to be packed more tightly once they expand. He won the Discover Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge for his invention.

On Monday a tall black man had entered a local gas station in Winter Garden Florida. This tall black man had asked for one of the clerks to help him find a drink. Then out of no where he puled out a revolver and demanded him to open the vault. The clerk was unable to open the vault. Human remains have been found in two separate treatment plants in Los Angeles County on Monday. It's believed to be related to remains found Saturday in a water treatment plant in Carson, but investigators are unsure. Human remains have been found in a sewage treatment system in California. An upper torso was found. It is belived that the torso may be linked to another case in which body parts were found in the sewers a while back.

Security Forces in Libya are looking for gunmen who took a truck carrying over $50 million in cash. The truck was in the city of Sirte when the men captured it. They say that there were 10 men involved in taking the truck carrying Libyan, European and U.S. money. Lauren Stevens, 23 yrs old (of Center Point) was headed east on Grant Street, just west of Mill Street, (in Walker) when she lost control of her car and hit a bridge, according to the Linn County Sheriff's Office. O_O
Stevens was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital with what deputies believe are non-life-threatening injuries.

A couple in Connecticut punished a 9 year old girl who was in their care. They reportedly used an electric dog collar the was designed to punish dogs. Eduardo Montanez who is 43 years old is still in jail on $250,000 bond because of third degree assault, risk of injury to a child and cruelty. His wife Paula who is 34 is being held on $200,000. Montanez forced the girl to bark so the collar would shock her. They put the collar on the girl because they are upset with her progress in school.
New York city council voted on Wednesday night to approve an anti tobacco law that will raise the tobacco purchasing age from 18 to 21. There are two bills. The one bill is Tobacco 21, which includes electronic cigarettes. The second bill is Sensible Tobacco Enforcement. A meeting was held in Ankeny Wednesday afternoon to discuss the future of automatic traffic cameras in Iowa. Currently, cameras are operated and monitored independently by the cities that install them. Now, the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) wants cities to prove that the cameras are actually necessary, making the cameras more of a last resort, and standardizing their use. A tennessee man is charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment after shooting a 15 year old boy. The mans name is Dale Bryant. A woman testing the prototype device Google Glass was ticketed in San Diego this week for driving while wearing the glasses. The driver was pulled over on a freeway for speeding. The police officer gave her a second citation for driving "with a monitor" in violation of state law. The woman later identified herself as Cecilia Abadie.
Two people were inside a rural Tama County home when it exploded just after 9 a.m. Thursday, according to from police. A resident and a heating and cooling repair man were inside at 9:10 a.m. when it exploded, according to a release at 4 p.m. sent from the Iowa Department of Public Safety. The body of an adult female was pronounced dead at the scene. An adult male was transported to the University of Iowa Burn Unit. A Dunkerton football player accused of having a gun in his bag during a football game in Riceville has been arrested after being found in Texas. 18-year-old Mary'o Doyuan Lindsey, Jr. was arrested in Texas and is being held in the Dallas County Jail on $200,000 bond, according to Captain Rick Abben of the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office.Lindsey faces charges in Black Hawk County of carrying weapons, possession of a firearm on school grounds, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of marijuana. Abben says Lindsey will have an extradition hearing in Texas and will either post bond and return to Iowa for a court date or he will be extradited back to Black Hawk County to face the charges. Abben adds that if he fights extradition, Black Hawk County authorities will attempt to secure a Governor's Warrant to have him returned.On Aug. 31, the Dunkerton superintendent reported a gun and suspected marijuana had been found in the duffel bag belonging to an injured football player. Abben says Lindsey had traveled to Riceville with the team on Friday, Aug. 30, and was taken to a hospital after being injured in the game. The gun and suspected marijuana had been found in the bag after Lindsey was taken to the hospital. After trying to find Lindsey in Black Hawk County, Abben says deputies received information that Lindsey had possibly fled to Texas. Lindsey was then placed on the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office Top Ten List. After learning of a possible location for Lindsey in Texas, the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office contacted the United States Marshal's Service.Lindsey will appear before a judge in Dallas County for an extradition hearing. If he fights extradition, Black Hawk County authorities will attempt to secure a Governor's Warrant to have him returned to Iowa.

A ride operator was arrested on 3 felony counts of assault after people were hurt by his ride at a fair. Police had determined the ride had been tampered with. The ride had stopped one night, and while people were getting off, the ride started up again and injured 5 people. 3 people are still hospitalized. Victims are between 14 and 39 years old.

4 prisoners escaped through a maintenance hatch Sunday. In an Oklahoma prison 4 prisoners pried open a hatch to escape. These inmates were ranging from 21- 32 and discarded their clothes a couple blocks away from the jail. These men are still at large

Father charged with killing his son sentenced to 50 years
ReplyDeleteA father who killed his 18 month old son was sentenced to 50 years in prison. A Black Hawk County jury found Daniel Reddout guilty of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of child endangerment. His son, Caleb died at a motel in April 2011 while in his fathers care. Monday the judge sentenced him to 50 years but he said that it was intentional that he killed his son but what he did was foolish and bad parenting. He addressed in court that he hopes to get help and take parenting classes. "In my mind and in my heart I will always serve a life sentence. I understand my boy paid the ultimate price for my actions. I assure you I never meant for this to happen. If I knew I was hurting my boy I would have never done it," said Reddout. He has the right to appeal but they don't know if it will happen.

In september, Miami children came home to find that their father was gone. They new something was wrong. Then they got a phone call from their father telling them he was ok and in a detention center. He was deported back to Nicaragua and is now there with his wife who was deported five years ago. He wasn't going to his meetings so that is why he was deported. The children are devastated and in the US alone now. They have been able to make contact with the parents. They are thinking of going back to Nicaragua but the parents are really against it saying that their isn't a future for them there.

ReplyDelete11 year old Peyton Robertson used his brilliant math and science skills to invent sand less sandbags. He wanted to make this product after having a scary experience with a hurricane. Regular sandbags are heavy. They usually weigh up to 40 pounds, but Peyton's sandbags weigh only 4 pounds. It's filled with a ultra-fluid cemical that only expands when water hits it. causing the sand bags to be packed more tightly once they expand. He won the Discover Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge for his invention.

Five people were killed in Phoenix Arizona. They died from gunshot wounds in a complex. A caller said the killer fled away on foot. 2 dogs were also shot. In one apartment 2 people were shot on the patio and 2 were shot on inside. They also found a suspect dead in the next apartment of a self inflicted wound. ReplyDeleteOn Monday a tall black man had entered a local gas station in Winter Garden Florida. This tall black man had asked for one of the clerks to help him find a drink. Then out of no where he puled out a revolver and demanded him to open the vault. The clerk was unable to open the vault. At this moment another clerk had entered the store and was forced to try to open the vault. This clerk had also failed at opening the vault. The tall black man left the store shooting blindly and had hit one of the clerks. When medical assistance arrived he was saying that he was feeling chest pain they said that a stray bullet had hit his cell phone and possibly saved his life.

Human remains have been found in two separate treatment plants in Los Angeles County on Monday. It's believed to be related to remains found Saturday in a water treatment plant in Carson, but investigators are unsure. The cause of death is unknown and will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Country singer Jason Aldean's tour bus struck and killed a pedestrian on an Indiana highway Monday morning, his representative said.

On Tuesday, for the first time, the two continents will be officially connected by a multi-billion dollar underwater railway tunnel. It is called the Marmaray Link named by combining the Sea of Marmara with "ray," meaning rail in Turkish. It is 8.5 miles and is the deepest of it's kind. It is expected to have a capacity of one and a half million people a day, connecting the two continents in about four minutes.

Security Forces in Libya are looking for gunmen who took a truck carrying over $50 million in cash. The truck was in the city of Sirte when the men captured it. They say that there were 10 men involved in taking the truck carrying Libyan, European and U.S. money. The truck was coming from The Central Bank of Libya when it was taken at an intersection by the airport. There was one security vehicle guarding the truck, but the guards weren't able to stop the robbery. As a result "all commercial banks in the city were closed in protest."

Brooke Greenberg was 20 years old when she died. Why is that important? Well she physically stopped growing as an infant, and her mental capacity was that of a two year old. There are only about a dozen of people suffering from what some call "syndrome X" which prevents you from aging. The refinished home was presented to the Lazum family.
The home, which was built by volunteers as part of the Habitat for Humanity Project features five bedrooms and two bathrooms for the family of nine. Organizers say it is all part of their mission to have more affordable homes in waterloo.
So we take vacant run-down homes and rehab them and rebuild them with volunteers and families, said Linda Morgan the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity, or we tear down those houses and build new houses in their place so we are replacing substandard housing for new livable affordable housing.

Stevens was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital with what deputies believe are non-life-threatening injuries.
Hall says Stevens was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident.

Police said a Drake University student was robbed at gunpoint near 29th Street and University Avenue on Sunday at 12:44 a.m. The student's black 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse wallet, credit cards and cellphone were taken. ReplyDeleteA couple in Connecticut punished a 9 year old girl who was in their care. They reportedly used an electric dog collar the was designed to punish dogs. Eduardo Montanez who is 43 years old is still in jail on $250,000 bond because of third degree assault, risk of injury to a child and cruelty. His wife Paula who is 34 is being held on $200,000. Montanez forced the girl to bark so the collar would shock her. They put the collar on the girl because they are upset with her progress in school.

New York city council voted on Wednesday night to approve an anti tobacco law that will raise the tobacco purchasing age from 18 to 21. There are two bills. The one bill is Tobacco 21, which includes electronic cigarettes. The second bill is Sensible Tobacco Enforcement. The mayor Michael Bloomberg has 30 days to sign the bills into law.

ReplyDeleteA meeting was held in Ankeny Wednesday afternoon to discuss the future of automatic traffic cameras in Iowa. Currently, cameras are operated and monitored independently by the cities that install them. Now, the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) wants cities to prove that the cameras are actually necessary, making the cameras more of a last resort, and standardizing their use. At the meeting, police said the cameras save lives, and that the proposed regulations are so strict that they essentially ban the cameras.

A tennessee man is charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment after shooting a 15 year old boy. The mans name is Dale Bryant. He is the principal of the school that the 15 year old boy goes to. The boys friend and him went to his house to tee pee his house. He came out of his house and shot the boy with a shotgun. The boy was hit in the right foot, inner left knee, right palm, right thigh and right side of his torso above the waistline. The man will not press charges against the boys for tee peeing his house.

Trapped and dying in desert

Welch was 54 years old, leaving his home around September 2, four days later his family filed a missing person’s report. Almost seven weeks later, a hitchhiker found him in a deep desert in Utah. He was trapped in his car and he spent days maybe even weeks trapped in his car writing love letter to his wife of 32 years and his four sons. Police investigators say that he fell asleep at the wheel and went off the road in the ravine.

A New York bus driver saves a women from jumping off a bridge. He is be hailed as a hero for preventing a women jumping off a bridge. About 20 kids just got on the bus when the driver spotted a women who had climbed over the guardrail and stood over the traffic below on the expressway. A woman testing the prototype device Google Glass was ticketed in San Diego this week for driving while wearing the glasses. The driver was pulled over on a freeway for speeding. Two people were inside a rural Tama County home when it exploded just after 9 a.m. Thursday, according to from police.
ReplyDeleteA resident and a heating and cooling repair man were inside at 9:10 a.m. when it exploded, according to a release at 4 p.m. sent from the Iowa Department of Public Safety.
The body of an adult female was pronounced dead at the scene. An adult male was transported to the University of Iowa Burn Unit.
The cause of the explosion is currently being investigated by the Iowa State Fire Marshall Division and the Gladbrook and Garwin fire departments.

Last night 3 pumpkins were seized from a passenger's bag in a canadian airport. They were stuffed with 4.4 pounds of cocaine. The airport in Montreal has made 173 drug seizures this year so far. 10 of them being cocaine adding up to 44 kilograms or 97 pounds.

On Oct. 30,3013 a couple went to court for using a shock collar on a 9 year old. They used shock collar it to punish the young girl. Robert Kolesnik Jr. said the child could be lieing to just get attention. A nurse at the school said she found a u shape on the child's neck. All kids have been removed from the Cohanses Apartments. The 9 year old victim, her 15 year old, and her 3 year old sisters were moved out of the parents hands. Robert thinks its not true and the parents shouldn't be going through any of this stuff. Abben adds that if he fights extradition, Black Hawk County authorities will attempt to secure a Governor's Warrant to have him returned.On Aug. 31, the Dunkerton superintendent reported a gun and suspected marijuana had been found in the duffel bag belonging to an injured football player. Abben says Lindsey had traveled to Riceville with the team on Friday, Aug. 30, and was taken to a hospital after being injured in the game. The gun and suspected marijuana had been found in the bag after Lindsey was taken to the hospital. After trying to find Lindsey in Black Hawk County, Abben says deputies received information that Lindsey had possibly fled to Texas. Lindsey was then placed on the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office Top Ten List. After learning of a possible location for Lindsey in Texas, the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office contacted the United States Marshal's Service.Lindsey will appear before a judge in Dallas County for an extradition hearing.
