  1. Cristina de Borbon, the sister of King Felipe VI of Spain has been given charges of tax fraud. She will be the first Spanish Royal to stand trial. There has been an ongoing investigation on her husband Inaki Urdangarin for four years. They have now asked Cristina, her husband, and fifteen others to go on trial regarding Inaki's Noos Foundation charity. Following this, Spain now has a major issue with corruption, the second major issue after high unemployment. Cristina and her husband both deny having anything to do with their charges of breach of legal duty, embezzling public funds, fraud, influence-peddling and money-laundering. The couple has been ordered to submit a total of 17.2 million dollars to the court to cover possible liabilities. They have been given 20 days to submit the money or face having assets seized.

  2. There was two intense standoffs with gunmen that are underway in and around Paris on Friday. One involving the two brothers wanted in the Charlie Hebdo Massacre and the other attacker was in a hostage situation at a kosher grocery store. There were large explosions that could be heard around 5:10 pm (11:10 a.m ET) on Friday near the grocery store in Paris. Thursday there was a deadly shooting of a a policewoman south of Paris. At least one man was-- suspected to be Amedy Coulibaly, 32, and is one of the two people responsible for the attack This is suspected to be a terrorist attack. French officials are investigating these two individuals to see if they are linked to popular terrorist groups such as ISIS.

  3. Today in Paris on there were two standoffs with gunmen. On of the guys involved was a brother wanted in the Charlie Hebdo attack. In the Charlie Hebdo attack, the two attackers targeted writers and cartoonist that had opinions of muslims. Among some of the 12 victims that were killed, were several contributors to the magazine, and the editor, Charb. They were deliberate with who they killed.   5. After the attacks in Paris that killed 17 people, over three million people are participating in unity marches across France. Many of the people what have rallied in central Paris carry signs with the slogan that has been adopted by the supports of freedom of speech "Je suis Charlie" meaning "I am Charlie"

  6. Ukraine's former president Viktor Yanukovych is wanted by Interpol for embezzling millions of dollars from public funds. He was last seen with a U.S film director. Who goes by the name of Oliver Stone, and also Ukraine's new government also accuses him of ordering snipers of protesters

  8. France is mobilising 10,000 troops to boost security after last week's deadly attacks, and will send thousands of police to protect Jewish schools. It is the first time troops have been deployed within France on such a scale.
    Seventeen people were killed in Paris last week in attacks at satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo About 40 world leaders joined the start of the Paris march, linking arms in an act of solidarity.

  9. During three days of attacks in Paris 17 people have died. After the attack three million people have taken part of a march in France. 1.6 million were estimated to be at the French captitol. 40 world leaders were joined at the start of the march. The rally was the highest it has ever been said the French Government. The attacks were on satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, police officers, and a kosher supermarket. Relatives of the victims led the Rally.

  10. A french police officer killed himself after the Charlie Hebdo attack. His name was Helric Fredou, 45 years old was a high ranking officer that killed himself on Wednesday night. He had a tasked to interview one of the victims family, but before he handed in the report he died. His decision to kill himself was not link to the attacks.

  11. After asking to file a report on the Charlie Hebdo killings in Paris a law enforcement agent high-ranking judicial police chief Helric Fredou commits suicide. Police are not sure if his suicide has any connection to the killings.

  12. 25,000 people have taken part in the anti-Islamisation rally in Dresden, Germany. These rallies are taking place because of recent terrorist attacks in Paris where 17 people were killed. The rally in Dresden was record breaking even after the outcries of German politicians to stay away from the rallies.

The French president Francois Hollande attended a ceremony at the Prefecture de Police for 3 officers who died in terror attacks in the capital. 2 of the officers, Ahmed Merabet and Franck Brinsolaro died, killed by Islamist gunmen. Charlie Hebdo, Clarissa Jean-Philippe were shot in a connected attack by one person. The president laid the Legion d'honneur medal on the officers' coffins at the ceremony. He said the officers;one black, one white, and one Arab, represented the diversity of France, and its unity in the face of a brutal attack.

  16. A bus in Ukraine was bombed at a government checkpoint killing at least 10 people and wounding many more.The check point is about 22 miles from a rebel stronghold which they believe the people who bombed the bus are Pro Russian rebels.

  17. The conflict in eastern Ukraine has caused a shell to hit a bus which has killed at least 10 people and wounding a bunch. It happened at a government checkpoint in Buhas. 4, 700 people and counting have been killed since this dispute has began 9 months ago.

  20. The attack which happened on the 11th of January was the cause of a march of over 3 million people. Some carried signs which read "Je Suis Charlie."
    3 million copies of Wednesday's edition of the magazine "Liberation" are being printed, which is 2,940,000 over what is usually available each week.
    Mr Malka told a french information radio station: "We will not give in. The spirit of 'Je Suis Charlie' means the right to blaspheme." which is the act of speaking sacrilegiously about a God or sacred things.

  21. In London, on december 29, a woman by the name Pauline Caffarkey, of Glasgow Scotland. She is the first person to be diagnosed with the Ebloa virus on UK soil shortly after returning from Sierra Leane. She is a UK nurse. She has improved, and is no longer critically ill.

  23. The first issue, since the attack, of the Charlie Hebdo magazine came out today, they even expanded the print. "Two additional plants are now printing the weekly newspaper—making four in total—which will allow for a second print run over the course of Wednesday." a spokesmen, Michel Salion, had said. The original amount, one million, of of copies for Wednesday, and on Saturday there will be two million copies, Mr.s Saalion added up all the totals and said that over all total would be atleast five million copies. “We will keep printing every day to satisfy demand,” Mr. Salion said.

  24. Italian President Giorgo Napolitano has announced his retirement in a resignation letter. Now the Prime Minister Matteo Renzi with the task of finding a successor. If he can not find a replacement, it is predicted that he may opt for elections.The president's role was mainly ceremonial, but he dose choose a prime minister and dissolve parliament. In 2013, the president didn't want to, but agreed to serve a second term. He announced last month that he would be leaving office before the 2020 expiry of his term because of his poor health, but just said that he will stand down within the next few hours with a long list of achievements to his credit.

  26. Hostage standoff at french



    In french police were involved in two friday scenarios. An official said they have killed the two suspects in the deadly attack on CHARLIE HEDDO magazine. Charlie Hedbo is an operation in a town outside paris. Blasts and gunshots were heard from both locations friday afternoon. Twelve people were killed on wednesday in charlie Hebdo in paris. Multiple blast and gunshots were heard from the area after 5 pm to 11am and police were then seen leading people from a store. France responded to this terrorist violence by holding a peaceful protest. Terrorism is becoming more widespread which has people from all over the globe concerned.

  28. 4 days ago 2 people people attacked Charlie Hebdo newsroom and 1 person attacked a gas station, just outside Paris. Some people died. They were linked to a terrorist group. By responding to the attack France responded by having a peaceful protest.

  29. On Wednesday a Turkish court banned website pages that show the cover of Charlie Hebdo. A newspaper that showed pictures of the cover received death threats.
