  4. Is the Navy’s Electromagnetic Railgun Alive or Dead?

If you don't know what a railgun is, it's a type of weapon that uses magnets to propel a projectile rather than explosive ordinance. Ever since the start of the 2000s, the US has been developing a railgun. The reason for this is because of he potential of the railgun, considering it would fire projectiles ten times faster than current ones onboard naval vessels. For the railgun to fire projectiles as fast as it does, it requires 5 megawatts of electricity. As a comparison, one megawatt can power 100 homes.

Due to the complexity of the railgun and the enormous amount of quality control needed to keep the gun from blowing itself up, there's been some delays in the development process. Other countries like China for example, have claimed to have railguns already deployed on their ships. This is highly unlikely though, considering china is known for prematurely deploying weapons.

A good example of this is the J-20 "Stealth" fighter which has a few minor problems like complete engine failure, almost no stealth capabilities, weapons malfunctions, and so on. The main reason the US hasn't deployed the railgun yet is because they want to make it as good as possible and not prematurely deploy the railgun.

  5. US Life Expectancy is Decreasing

For the first time in a hundred years the life expectancy of Americans is going down. Increased stress, suicides, and alcoholism are said to be some of the main causes of the drop. Researches also noticed mortality increasing specifically in the white middle class. Dr. Sanjay Gupta reports that this not an issue to just be looked over, it should concern Americans. Gupta says that mortality isn't increasing in other countries which is why this life expectancy drop is taking the nation by surprise, also the fact that the last time this happened was during the world wars.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta was interviewed by CNN. He talked about how life expectancy for people in the U.S. dropped. The last time this number dropped was over 100 years ago when there was problems like a world war and a flu pandemic. Dr Sanjay Gupta thinks it is interesting how our country spends over 4 trillion dollars a year on health care, but our life expectancy has gone down. Our top causes of death are drug overdose, suicide(rose by 30%), and liver cirrhosis(from alcoholism). The doctor says that we are the only country where this is happening and most problems you would think to be the cause other countries have as well. So, why is the United States life expectancy dropping?

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-russia-trump-democrats/mueller-report-is-blow-to-us-democrats-plans-to-probe-trump-idUSKCN1R604C

Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report draws the conclusion that with current evidence, Donald Trump did not collude with Russia in terms of the 2016 election. This new development is expected to negatively affect Democrat efforts to undermine the Trump campaign and to probe the Trump administration.

However, the special counsel stated that the report does not fully exonerate Trump, especially in dealings concerning obstruction of justice with the investigation. Attorney General William Barr's report's release, as the Reuters article puts it, is set to reduce Trump's chances of impeachment by a large margin.

“Bad day for those hoping the Mueller investigation would take President Trump down,” says Lindsey Graham, concerning the situation.

Currently, the Democrats are pushing for the release of the full Mueller report.
